Congratulations to RHS Track and Field Competitors! Go Hawks!

Montgomery Co Championships- Girls placed 3rd overall and Boys were Runners-Up!
  • JaMarcus Caldwell took first in the high jump, he cleared 6-2!
  • Torri James PR’d and took first in the high jump, she cleared 5-6!
  • Cole Riedel had a strong night jumping 39-2.75, he will move on ext week as well!
  • C.J. Martinez – PR’d in shot put with a throw of 40-10!
  • Marcia DeJesus – placed 3rd in shot put, throwing 31-7!
  • Pole vaulting, all 3 of our competitors moved on!
  • Kristen DeSantis took 2nd and cleared 10-6!
  • Carson Tolbert cleared 10-6.
  • Aiden Snyder cleared 10-0.
 Sub-Sectionals
  • Micah Parker broke the school record in the 400m race and took first place overall
    running a 50.76!
  • Jarian (Prophet) Basden advanced to sectionals in the 400m race, he ran 52.68!
  • Jarian (Prophet) Basden advanced to sectionals in the 200m race, he ran 23.06!
  • Matthias Harris PR’d in the 100m dash with a time of 11.29!
  •  Maxwell (Mookie) Strains took first in both the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles, he PR’d in the
    300m hurdles with a time of 41.71!
  • The boys 4X100m team took 3rd, advancing into sectionals with a time of 43.77!
  •  The boys 4X200m team advanced into sectionals 1:33.12!
  • The boys 4X400m race placed 3rd, advancing into sectionals 3:31. 25!
  • Kaitlyn McLeod took first in the 100m dash, PRing with a time of 12.04!
  • The girls 4X100m race took 2nd with a time of 49.74 advancing into sectionals!
  • The girls 4X200m race was explosive, our girls dominated and took first place with a time of
    1:46.19.!
  • Kaitlyn McLeod took first in the 200m race, PRing with a time of 25.03!
  • Cassandra Rosencrants PR’d and advanced to sectionals in the 800m race with a time of 2:29.3!
  • Hannah Ferreira PR’d in the 3200m race, she ran 13:53.92!
  • The girls 4X400m race advanced to sectionals!!

Create Workshop Camp @ Rossview High May 30 – June 1

Create Camp at Rossview High

The Create Workshop will offer students a focused three day training and development experience in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. Students will enter as Interns and leave as Junior Designers, possessing a better understanding of and appreciation for the field of Digital Art & Design. Skills in typography and photo editing developed over the course of the workshop will lead students to design a creative poster of their own!

70th Annual Youth in Government Conference April 2, 2023

At the State Capitol in Nashville on April 2, 2023, over 700 students participated in the 70th annual Youth in Government
Conference hosted by the YMCA Center for Civic Engagement. The following students were recognized for their
excellence in civic affairs.

  • Most Outstanding Statesperson: Londyn Terry, Anna Brown, and Liz Pfiefer.
  • Most Outstanding Legislation: Anna Brown, Liz Pfeifer, and Hannah Ferreria.
  • Katie Reneau was selected by the YMCA to represent the state of Tennessee at the prestigious Conference on National Affairs.
  • Carlie Viray will serve as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court at next year’s event.

Congratulations to all our awardwinners, we are so proud of you!

Hadyn Pollard Earns His Eagle Scout April 20, 2023

Hadyn Pollard has worked very hard to earn his Eagle Scout rank, awarded on April 20, 2023. In addition to his dedication to the Boy Scouts of America, Hadyn gave up his free time to work with his English teacher to perfect his essay and to complete the requirements of his application. He began the endeavor with his late father, who would have been so proud to celebrate his achievement. Hadyn is an exemplary student and a dedicated scout.
