Upcoming Theatre and Talent Show Auditions

THSSDL INTERP THEATRE AUDITIONS, Tuesday, February 6th from 2:30 -3:30 in Mrs. Wilcox’s room, G129.

TALENT SHOW AUDITIONS, Thursday, February 8th from 2:30-5:00 in the Main Theatre. Must sign up in G129 by February 7th. The talent show will be Thursday, February 15th @ 7:00 PM. Tickets are $5.00 and will be available on GoFan Next week.

Rossview Playhouse Performing at APSU

The Rossview Playhouse will be performing SECOND SAMUEL at the APSU TRAHERN THEATRE on Friday, January 26th, and Saturday, January 27th, at 7:00 PM and on Sunday, January 28th, at 2:30 PM. This is a fundraiser to reach our monetary goal for our trip to the South Eastern Theater Conference in March – this is the first time that any CMCSS theater program has qualified for this conference in its 75-year history! Tickets will be $15.00 and you can reserve your seats on GOFAN, simply scan the QR code on the image below.

Due to the change of date concerning storing grades, we had to shift our registration dates/timeline. The updated timeline is as follows:

Jan 5:    Dual Enrollment Deadline
Jan 11:  Accuplacer Testing for rising Dual Students
Jan 16:  Rising 12th Registration Talks through English
Jan 17:  Rising 11th Registration Talks through English
Jan 18:  Rising 10th Registration Talks through English
Jan 19:  Student application deadline for courses that require it.
Jan 30:  Signing Day
Jan 30:  Acceptance lists due to guidance*
Jan 31:  Registration Cards (and ALL forms/contracts) turned in to English Teachers

Special Populations Department Hosts “What’s DIDD?” Family Engagement Session

The CMCSS Special Populations Department will continue its Family Engagement Series on Wednesday, February 7, with the session “What’s DIDD?” The District is joined by the TN Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and will share the programs offered at the state level. Services include early intervention, support for children with disabilities, services to transition to independence, and behavioral health support.

This free event is open to the public, and CMCSS families are encouraged to attend. The meeting will be held at the William O. Beach Civic Hall at Veterans Plaza (350 Pageant Lane, Suite 201) from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

JROTC Drill and Rifle Team Awards

Congrats to the RHS JROTC Drill Team for their 3rd-place finish in the KHS Drill Competition! The Team Captain is c/CPT Yuna Choi and the team is coached by CSM Conner.

Additionally, congrats to the RHS JROTC 1st Year Rifle Team for their 2nd-place finish in the NWHS Rifle Comp Competition! The Team Captain is c/CPT Emma Mason and is coached by MAJ Braun.

RHS Band had a busy weekend!

Great job to our band students who performed at the 2023 Austin Peay State University GOMB Day! The Governors Own welcomed 350 high school band students to campus for the annual GOMB day where high school students get to be members of the marching band for a day! They got to cheer on the Govs for their conference victory.

Congratulations to Jamie Noland for making the 6th Chair Gold Band in the 2024 MTSBOA Mid-State Honor Band and for also making the 2024 Tennessee Music Education Association All-State Band on Saturday!

Customs House Field Trip

On Friday, students in the African American History classes took a trip to the Customs House to view the Jacob Lawrence and Wima Rudolph exhibits. We thank Mrs. Sisson for giving them this experiential learning activity.

Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year…Mrs. Wilcox!!

Congratulations to the one and only Mrs. LuEllyn Wilcox, our Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Wilcox is a highly decorated, theatrical force of nature, as she leads her actors to district, regional, state, and now multi-state championships and awards. She is truly beloved by her students and our school community. Congratulations, Mrs. Wilcox! We adore you and thank you for all of the hard work you’ve put into our Rossview community over the years!
