Latin Students Compete at the National Latin Convention

Rossview High Latin teacher and JCL Sponsor, Alyssa Sanchez, and four students attended the National Latin Convention: Wyatt Roder, Logan Graff, Isabella Ochoa, and Jia Do. All four students placed first in at least one event.
- Logan Graff placed tenth in Ancient Geography and eighth in 200 meter spring.
- Isabella Ochoa placed sixth in Classical Art and eighth in derivatives.
- Jia Do placed fifth in Classical Art and third in Impromptu Art.
Wyatt Roder placed first in the nation in Latin Literature, Roman Life, Academic Heptathlon, Latin Vocabulary, Mythology, and Reading Comp. He placed second in Latin Derivatives and Latin Grammar. He placed third in Mottos and fourth in Roman History. He lead the advanced Tennessee Certamen team to a second place win taking the team to the finals for the first time since 2006. He also placed first in academic Decathlon as a Latin III beating students who have taken Latin 6+ years to win $500. Overall, Wyatt placed third in overall academic and sixth place in overall sweepstakes winners.
